Pennant Flags: Get Ready for Festival Season!

Denver offers plenty of sunshine during the summer seasons which heats up from June to September each year. The summertime is also affectionately known as the festival season and there are countless outdoor festivals planned each year all throughout Colorado. Chances are you’ll see pennant flags when you head out to these great events.   

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival  

You’ll find pennant flags Denver flying over this one-of-a-kind festival held during the entire summer season just outside of the capital city in Boulder. The University of Colorado Boulder is home to a historic outdoor theatre called the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre. Events are held outdoors and in the university theatre on the Boulder campus. Works featured this year include The Odyssey and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.   

Blues and BBQ in Edgewater

Check out the 23rd annual Edgewater Blues & BBQ festival scheduled to be held in July this year. You’ll find plenty of great food, live music, festival vendors and artisans, and amusement for the kids too. There will be pennant flags flying over this event, proceeds of which benefit the Habitat for Humanity organization in the Metro Denver area. 

Denver International Festival

On August 1, head to Civic Center Park in the Mile High City for the Denver International Festival. This event celebrates the city’s diverse heritage with music, food, and art from around the world. This popular event draws the crowds so plan to arrive early and stay late for all the festivities.   

The Colorado State Fair

It’s the unofficial end of summer each year, the Colorado State Fair held in Pueblo. During the first week of September. This annual event is held at the Colorado state fairgrounds and features nightly entertainment, a rodeo, rides, food, shopping and plenty more to occupy your time. If you’ve lived in Colorado for your whole life, or even a short period of time, plan to head to the state fair this year.
